Hey guys!

We hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas.  We were able to spend time with both sides of the family, which was awesome. Unfortunately, we were battling some head colds, and the little guy started teething. And let me tell you, between the cold and the teething he is not taking it too well. So it is for these reasons (and just general holiday exhaustion) that we are going to scatter this week. We look forward to seeing you all in the new year on January 6th. Please post some potluck ideas below.

Sunday, December 9th, Scatter Week

Hi Everybody,

It seems we have a busier week than normal and putting together a group for today is gonna be a bit tough to do. That being said, we hope that people find time for intentional bonding with someone during our normal meeting time.

Maybe have dinner with a neighbor or friend?
Get a baby sitter and grab a date night?
Have a family outing together?

Just some ideas to go and love one another out there with the people we see on the regular.

Sunday Dec 2nd Soup and Salad

Hello Friends,

We will be meeting this week at the Tanksley home at our usual 5 pm time slot. Our address is 2189 SE Meadowlark Dr. Hillsboro.

This week we will be doing soup and salad, as we had to cancel this theme the first time around. Zach and I will be making a soup of some sort, and will have one loaf of bread to contribute. Please let us know in the comments or on FB if you plan to join us and what you will contribute.

I've talked to several of you about this last time we met, but for those of you who don't know. The Camp Fire in Paradise, California has made a deep impact on my extended family. Two of my moms sisters (+husbands) lost homes, as well as three of their daughters (+families) lost homes. So five homes in total, five families who have lost SO much. We have been working on Christmas care packages from our community to send down in week or two. If you would like to participate in this outreach,  shoot me a text and I will let you know how you can help. But as a general rule, gift cards for food and necessities are always welcome.

Sunday Nov 18 Canceled

Update. Due to unavailability of group members, it looks like we will be canceling this week. We will be postponing this meal plan until we meet again on December 2nd.

We will be meeting this Sunday at 5pm at the Tanksley home. 2189 SE Meadowlark Dr. Hillsboro.

This week we will be doing soups, salads and bread. Zach and I will be making a butternut squash soup and will have a loaf of garlic bread handy.

Please let us know if you plan to attend and what you will contribute.

We are looking forward to seeing you all.  Just as a heads up, we will not be meeting next week due to the holiday.

Sunday Nov 11th Taco Bar

This is a reminder that our community is on the schedule for cleaning this coming Sunday. I know we've done this before, but here is a quick refresher. It seems ideal to have 3-4 people show up around 8:00 or 8:15 to help with the cleaning. The cleaning is mainly focused on kids classrooms, with an emphasis on sanitizing toys and hard surfaces. It is also helpful if we are also able to do a restroom check to make sure they look clean and presentable. If you (or one spouse) can come early to help Zach and I we would appreciate it.

November 4th Rotisserie Chicken

Hi Everybody!

We are looking forward to having people come over and join in community through fellowship, breaking bread, and picking apart Justin's sermon (just kidding, but we will have fun talking about how it applies.)

Per the usual we will be meeting at our place (2189 SE Meadowlark Dr., Hillsboro, OR, 97123) at 5PM. Meal roulette has landed on.... YUM BOWLS! (I know, it was in the title... no surprise here.)

Karina and I are planning on making some homemade Yum Sauce as well as providing rice and sour cream.

We would love help with bringing some meat. Chicken, Pork, Beef, anything is fine (except seafood, because Karina and others no likey.)

Also other toppings are usually helpful.

September 30 Pasta Nite

Hello!

We are looking forward to seeing everyone this evening. We will be meeting at the Tanksley home (2189 SE Meadowlark Dr. Hillsboro) at 5pm.

Tonight we will be doing a pasta night. So we are hoping for a combination of pasta, salad bread to make the meal complete.

Zach and I will be providing a pasta bar. We will have both a red and cream sauce, meat and pasta. If you plan on joining us please comment below with your intended contribution so we can plan accordingly.

9/9/18 EDIT: Canceled (Families out of town)

Hello friends!

I hope you have had a great Summer. But alas the signs of Summer are dwindling. We have had occasional water from the skies, school buses on the roads, and most scandalous of all... Pumpkin Spice is back in the air (Starbucks brought it back in August... that is wrong on so many levels.

Anyways, we are excited to start meeting again and we have heard that a meal of Enchiladas and other side dishes are desired.

Seth Van Nuys has already graciously offered to make Enchiladas, and we will be providing Rice and Beans to go with those enchiladas, as well as Chips and Salsa.

If you want to bring something let us know!

End of Summer...Starting Anew!

Hello All!

It has been a long couple of months since we've gathered officially. But it's time to to start planning our regular gatherings again. And we are SO excited!

We will meet again on Sunday September 9th at 5pm. More details to follow next week, so for now just save the date. We are looking forward to gathering and making some plans for the future of our group moving forward.

Thank you for your patience these last few months as we've adjusted to life with our newest addition. And thank you for your support during that transition and through our recent injuries and traumas. You guys are amazing!

Hey all,

Sorry for the late blog post. Still no baby yet. I did take a spill on Friday, so I've been battling some very sore muscles this weekend as a result.

The Van Nuys family has volunteered to host group for us tonight. They live at 500 S 8th Ave Cornelius 97113. And we will meet at our usual 5pm time.

They are providing chicken and steak to throw on the bbq. And are asking that we all bring sides to complete the meal. Please RSVP in the comments below or on the Facebook page.

Sunday April 15

Hey guys!

Just a quick reminder that this coming Sunday is the All Colossae Gathering. Which means we will be meeting, for the first time, with our extended Colossae family at the PSU Viking Pavilion (930 SW Hall St. Portland). This is a brand new pavilion, so if this address is wrong, please forgive me. You can always try navigating to PSU to find parking and then follow the signs, since it's all part of the same campus. The gathering is at 10am, with a time for lunch afterwards. Each family is responsible for providing their own meal. This should be an exciting time as a Church body, with special guest speaker Francis Chan. We look forward to seeing you all there.

We would still like to gather together as a community on Sunday at 5pm at the Tanksley home (2189 SE Meadowlark Dr Hillsboro). Given the events of the morning we want to make this a relatively easy meal, so we've landed on an Ultimate Taco Salad Bar. We will provide salad and ground beef. So if you would like to contribute to toppings, please leave a comment below so that everyone can plan accordingly. Thank you.

Lastly, we have been partnering with Reedville Park community in volunteering once a month at With Love. We will be suspending this month's volunteering due to schedules and the due date of our baby boy. Our next volunteer date will be May 20th from 1-3pm.

We look forward to seeing you all this Sunday. Please keep us in your prayers and have patience with any last minute changes that may occur in the upcoming weeks as our third baby is due at the end of the month.

Sunday March 26th

Hey guys,

Looking forward to seeing everyone this Sunday at 5 pm. As usual we will meet at the Tanksley home (2189 SE Meadowlark Dr Hillsboro).

This week we will be having a taco bar. Thanks to In Laws my hubby has a new smoker, and is planning on whipping up a bunch of pulled pork for everyone. Please, if you are planning on joining us, leave us a note with your contribution to the meal, and we try to fill in any gaps.

Also, this Sunday is our groups turn to help clean the church building. So if you can, we would really appreciate your help sanitizing baby toys and wiping down some surfaces. We usually meet 1 hr before service, so with new service times that would be 8 am. Please let us know if you can help out with that as well.

That's all for now. There are a few more things to discuss, but we will save them for when we gather for our meal.

*Hey Guys, we've had a family issue arise. We will be heading out to console and minister to them this evening. Maybe we can postpone group to later this week. If we do an update will follow.

We are back! And ready for a regular gathering! Ready to see all your happy smiley faces.

So we will be meeting at 5pm here at the Tanksley Abode (2189 SE Meadowlark Dr Hillsboro) on Sunday.

We are thinking....drum roll please...homemade pizzas! But nothing too complex. Zach will make his keto friendly dough, and we will have some precooked store bought crusts, so we can just add toppings, heat 'em up.

So, we will have dough/crust, sauce and cheese. Just give us a shout out if you are planning on joining us and your planned contribution, that would be Amazing! We will adjust our own contribution according to how many of you are joining us .
